The materials used to construct silencers

There are several things that can go wrong when you work in a noisy setting. For example, it can have an impact on your concentration and productivity. It can even harm your health. Some conditions are temporary but others can last for the rest of your life. By using our first rate silencers however, operators can reduce the noise. We can create blow down silencer models as well as various other products. Because of this, we can meet a wide variety of requirements.

Pneumatic mufflers quietly and safely vent pressurised air into the atmosphere. They are also known as silencers. Normally, you would see them on fittings, manifolds, cylinders, and valves. When there is no muffler present, the venting can be very loud and noisy. It can have a negative influence on the surrounding environment and workers. So, it is important to invest in good equipment.

It is possible to construct silencers using a myriad of materials. We will be discussing some of them in this post to give you more information about what to expect.

Metals

The majority of silencers will be made of metal. This ensures they will be durable and able to withstand the operating conditions. Typically, brass or stainless steel is the best choice for a blow down silencer because they both have excellent properties.

General-purpose brass silencers often have machined bodies. These come with compact metal wool or sintered bronze powder as the silencing material. They usually have the ability to endure temperatures of around 300ºF.

Stainless steel silencers are a fantastic alternative, especially if there is a need for more durability and corrosion resistance. They are a great option for settings with a lot of moisture or with high sterilisation needs. They have metal bodies with sintered stainless powder, woven mesh, or wires inside. Rated working temperatures are able to reach roughly 400ºF.

Plastic

You are able to use plastic silencers in some situations too. Depending on the application, they can also come in separate versions. Standard design styles include cylindrical, cone, and flat-face shapes. For plastic units, they tend to have injection-moulded bodies. They are typically lightweight, economical, and high in chemical resistance.

These models tend to have metal powder, sintered plastic, or plastic fibres inside. These are the noise-reducing mediums.
